VOLKSWAGEN - ROADTALES
In collaboration with Volkswagen, we developed a digital product that transformed everyday roads into magical story settings through location-based interactive audiobooks, bringing imagination back to the backseat for families.
Road Tales leverages a custom-built story engine that generates unique, location-based tales tailored to each journey. To create stories that respond to the environment, we scanned every highway in the Netherlands to identify roadside objects, turning them into story elements. This created a digital storytelling infrastructure across the country, allowing children and families to experience roads in a completely new, imaginative way.
Together with Volkswagen we created a digital product and campaign that used location-based interactive audiobooks to transform everyday, ordinary roads into magical characters of a story. And at the same time bring imagination back to the backseat of family cars.
Road Tales uses a customer developed story-engine that creates unique tales based on the location of the user. To ensure the stories react to the environment, we scanned all Dutch highways to identify objects next to the roads to transform them into story elements. With this we made an digital infrastructure of the Netherlands to tell stories in a new way.
